Can I increase RAM usage?

I am running PoE on a low end laptop with win8.1 64bit and the game runs tolerably well, except for short but frequent freezes that happen whenever the game needs to load content.

But I was wondering; could the game run better if it used more RAM? PoE seems to only consume around 2GB and I have plenty spare.

Is it possible to instruct PoE to use more RAM? Would it make any difference to performance?

I'm pretty sure it uses only about 2GB because it's the best amount your system can work with when playing PoE. By increasing the amount of ram used it can lead to performance problems. But even so, the amount used is limited by which resources the game loads up into RAM.

As far as I know DX9 client tends to stay at 1.5-2GB usage while the DX11 for me at least goes up to 4-5GB at it's peak when playing PoE.

If anything you should wish for low ram usage not high usage =]

Try to disable superfetch service, you might get better performance.
Cooperation is a silent form of conflict.
1. make sure you are using the x64 client

2. use --noasync

There will still be stuttering but it will be less, it should mostly be limited to standing in town when someone with MTX ports in and stuff like rogue exiles spawned from strong boxes

Setup a RAM disk, this will help a lot with loading times.
