Vial of Summoning consumed item sacrificed

Hey team,

I was in my Temple looking into the new Vials and their effects on the Incursion uniques. Long story short is I right clicked my vial of summoning while in the sacrificial altar and it consumed my vial. I then thought I should put the Mask of the Stitched Demon on the altar to get the upgraded version and it then tossed out a random other unique. I understand the second part and while it is unfortunate I guess I should have realized what was happening. But the vial being consumed doesn't seem right to me.

Any insight on this?
