RED VEIL BLOCKING AT START

What is this ridiculously retarded red veil doing blocking me at the start of Twilight Strand, and how do I make it go away?


I've asked in-game and gotten various advice such as going through the tutorial, picking up and equipping the gem dropped, equipping any items that dropped, ect ... done it all, the stupid veil is still blocking the path. I've also let the instance time out (180 seconds) to try again repeatedly, and it STILL blocks me.

Bug confirmed. If you create a new character, follow the tutorial and kill Hillock, then exit, wait for instance reset (90 seconds), then enter the game, you can not progress because the red veil is in place from the tutorial which you can't dismiss.

You are forced to pick a node from the passive tree. Have you done that?

Yeah, did that too ...

Went so far as to totally delete everything my character had, dumping all armor and weapons and gems.

I also tried hacking the .ini file to turn off the tutorial.

Nothing worked. I was forced to delete my character and re-create it in order to have any chance of progress whatsoever.
