How to get PhotoShop CC to recognize pen input on a touchscreen PC?

Hello all,

I want to do what I thought was a simple task, draw in photoshop using the passive (I think this is what it is called) pen on my new touchscreen PC. I can get other drawing programs to respond to the pen but not Photoshop. It basically behaves like a click of a mouse and drag. I am not looking for any sensitivity settings or anything crazy. Just so I can sketch on the screen in Photoshop to draw out some thoughts and then start editing.

About this stylus:
Length:5.5"(140mm);
Pen tube diameter 0.35"(9mm);
Disc diameter: 0.27" (6.8mm) including 2mm rubber point ;
Fiber tip Diameter:0.24 (6mm)
Weight: 24g
Materiel: Made from stainless steel and Aluminum, no plastic parts, real pen feeling

Anyone have this solved?

Thanks for any pointers!

That's all it will do unless you use an input device that is specifically supported (source: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/support-touch-screens-photoshop-cs6.html). Last I checked Wacom devices are all well supported by Photoshop.

Photoshop doesn't support it... I use other programs for pen details then import over to photoshop.

Any other ideas or suggestions ?
I think this is an issue that was introduced in a recent Windows 10 update. I was experiencing it with Photoshop as well. I followed these steps and it sorted it out for me.

I think this is only relevant to devices that were supposed to be supported in the first place (the example given in your link is a Wacom tablet). I'd be very surprised if there's anything that can be done in relation to unsupported devices.
