There is absolute no need of life loss on hit on Gloomfang.
![]() Since it barely has any other good mods besides the chain (no single target damage, no life/defense, no resistances etc);; and it has mana regeneration as an implicit, which is barely useful for attack builds (the ones which will use this the most).... May i dare to say that if it was LIFE GAINED on hit it would still NOT be used by most builds. Buff life on the right side of the tree! Just a little! Pretty Please! At first I was going to disagree, but the more I look at it the more I agree. Whoever designed the item has no idea how leech works in Path of Exile, which makes the life loss on hit a death sentence if you use the chain how it's meant to be used (firing at a big pack of enemies). I guess you could offset it with LGOH support, but at that point you're trading a socket for a chain and the leech becomes even more irrelevant than it already is.
It's a badly designed item by a team that has no idea what they're doing. It needs a total rethink. |

Its not a bad item if you have instant leech (bloodseeker or legacy stuff) till you run into a divine shrine, killed myself to that a couple of times.

Maybe it's because it has two good mods? Chain and extra chaos damage. I don't know.
But this is how uniques used to be in the past. Some strong modifiers but also some bad ones for balance to make you think twice before equipping them. Remember that you can craft shaper rings with life gain on hit now. Though i think it only works for attacks. |

When I first read the stats, my first thought was totems/traps/mines.

Mathil made a successful build with this amulet.
"How come only evil forces were released?" - "Because there are no good forces."
"So, then. You don't believe that there is a God." - "There was a god." "Well, then. Where is he now?" - "I killed him," said Kane. |
