Welcome to Path of Exile!

Your tree seems fine, at least at a first glance. You have avoided the typical noob trap of not picking up any life nodes, so you are on the right track in this regard.

You have a couple of empty jewel sockets - have you just not found any good jewels yet? Maybe you can try crafting some with orbs of alteration and augmentation. Even a jewel with one useful mod is better than an empty space.

Your gear could use some improvement. Ideally you want every item to be either a unique relevant to your build, or a rare with a life roll and at least one resistance. Your life seems okay-ish for Act 5 (although a bit on the low side), but your resistances could definitely use a boost. There is a surprise waiting for you that you might not want to get spoiled; but definitely try to fix your resistances to be about 60%+, ideally 75%. And by that I specifically mean Fire, Cold, and Lightning - don't worry about Chaos for now.

Your boots and gloves specifically have almost no modifiers that actually do anything for you. You should be able to find a better rare pair reasonably fast, even if you don't want to trade for one.

I noticed that you seem to be picking up a lot of gear with increased item rarity - honestly this is not going to do anything worthwhile for you at this point of the game. I would suggest not worrying about item quantity/rarity at least until you reach endgame Maps. Prioritize defenses and then offenses.

Flasks look okay, but you should use a transmutation/augmentation orb to give the white flasks some useful modifiers. A sulphur flask is very questionable, a silver or diamond would most likely give you way more of a damage boost. But the freeze immunity is definitely good.

Finally, to the actually problematic part: your gems. Make sure you understand how the skill gem system works in PoE. Specifically, support gems need to be in sockets that are linked to the active gem to have any effect. You do not have any support gems actually linked to any of your active gems. At this point in the game, your main attack skill should definitely be in a 4-link setup (i.e. active skill + 3 linked support gems). You can use jeweller's orbs and orbs of fusing to redo the sockets on an item, or even just look through NPC vendor inventories and mob drops for something that has four linked sockets.

You have a lot of empty sockets that could be used for various defensive or offensive options. Just picking a couple:

Defensive: Stone Golem, Decoy Totem, Enduring Cry, Mirror Arrow/Blink Arrow, Warlord's Mark, Enfeeble
Offensive: Flame/Ice/Lightning Golem, Blood Rage, Projectile Weakness, Siege Ballista.

If you don't want to apply curses (such as Enfeeble or Projectile Weakness) yourself, you can link them to a Spell Totem Support, which will create a totem casting the curses for you on anything in the area.

If you don't know where to find some of the gems, complete a quest for Siosa in the Library in Act 3. He will sell you most of the skill gems available in game (all of the ones I mentioned above).

Good luck, and don't be afraid to ask if you have any further questions.

First off, no need to link your gear in a video - since you made your character public in your profile, we can actually see everything there. :)

========================================

Second - I wouldn't choose this build for a first character, for several reasons:

1. Ranger is not a good class for beginners imho - she has a harder time to survive than any other class except shadow. Ranger builds very easily become glass cannons unless you know exactly what you are doing.

2. The build you're following requires unique items to work. If you don't get the immense extra evasion from Queen of the Forest, you're screwed and you'll just keep dying. If you don't get a Dying Sun, your killspeed will be low. And as a beginner, you might not have the currency to buy those items when you need them.

3. The build has a "leveling" setup that is very different from the final setup. You're supposed to use bows while leveling and then switch to wands. This isn't much of an issue for experienced players, but makes things harder to understand for a newbie. It also means that your build has low efficiency during leveling, because you're probably not doing everything to support your current weapon.

4. Your damage against single targets (e.g. bosses) will be subpar unless you have exactly the items you need. This means you'll have the hardest time to kill exactly the enemies that are the most likely to kill you. And as a newbie, you can't yet know how these bosses telegraph their attacks, so you can't always step out of the way like an experienced player would. You'll have the movement speed to run away from those attacks (with Queen of the Forest), but not the knowledge to know when and where to run. So you'll get hit by massive amounts of damage, without having the life pool to sustain it, and without having the offensive single-target power to at least keep the fight short.

There's a reason why the build creator explicitly labeled his build as "not noob proof".

========================================

Regarding your current lack of survivability:

The problem is that you chose an inherently squishy character (ranger) and have almost no life bonuses on any of your gear. You _did_ take the life nodes on the skill tree that were in reach, which is essential to make a ranger survivable - but most of these nodes give you percentage bonuses that scale your base life. If your base life is low, then all those percentage bonuses don't have much they can scale.

Strength-based characters automatically get some base life from their high strength value and from the +10 strength nodes that they pick automatically in their area of the tree. Rangers are usually dexterity-based and won't get much strength (and thus life) from the skill tree this way. They get high dexterity, which gives them evasion, but evasion is programmed to fail after a while and does not help against elemental damage or spells. Therefore it is absolutely imperative that you have a high life pool (400k per act is a good rule of thumb, but you'll probably want more than that for this particular build). Only then will you be able to sustain the damage when your evasion inevitably fails or does not apply.

To get a decent life pool on a ranger, you need to not only take the life nodes on the tree, but also have high life bonuses on most of your gear, so that the percentage bonuses have a good base to scale from.

Also, make sure that your elemental resistances are as close to 75% as you can get. You're in act 5 now, so resistances start to become important. Otherwise elemental damage will kill you easily. Currently, if you get hit for 1500 points of elemental damage, it will almost one-shot you. With 75% resistance, you'd only have to survive 375 points of damage, that's one quick sip from the flask.

========================================

Edit: Also, after checking your skill gems, it seems that you're barely using any skills, and don't use support gems to boost the skills that you have. That might be the biggest factor why you're experiencing problems. If you boost your damage skills with support gems, you can do more damage, which means that more enemies will die before they can hurt you. And if you use defensive skills, you'll obviously increase your survivability.

Sorry if I'm sounding overly negative. Fact is, there _is_ a lot to improve ... but you can also look at that from a positive angle and view it as a lot of yet untapped potential. ;) Regardless though, I would recommend to choose another build to follow, for the reasons stated above.

All good tips here. In short you need to get more life on your gear. Stat priorities are Life>Resistances> everything else(for right now). You want to max your resistances ASAP while making life 1st priority. Fill your jewel slots with life and/or resistance jewels. Good luck!

First i would change your gloves. rarity pretty much does nothing. Get some life and resist gloves asap
