Ivory Temple boss. What the actual hell!
The boss constantly spawns ads.
One of the ads is regen enchanted. When I kill the regen guy, boss instantly spawns a new one. Killing ads won't refill my flasks. This is only a tier 5 map. How do I kill this guy? Is there anything that I can't see? Some lever etc. to turn off something? Or do I have to level up and get strong enough to easily do tier 12-13 maps and then return back to this map and one-shot him? What a ridiculously difficult boss! PS: This is a white map, so no difficult mods Last edited by BurakUeda#0565 on Mar 28, 2018, 10:50:54 AM Last bumped on Mar 29, 2018, 5:59:36 AM

I havent noticed anything. Different builds have difficulties with different types of encounters. Believe it or not, this league I have troubles with bosses that are totems

" Yes, that one. I know she is not very strong with only 4 link gear, and I know there are other over the top strong bosses for their tier, but this is different. He is not one-shotting me, I can kite his attacks all day and I can take 1 or 2 hits. The problem is I can't kill him unless I 1 shot him. 1) I am out of flasks eventually, and killing his ads won't refill them. So I have run to town. 2) His Vitality aura buddy is so strong and constantly spawned. He will regen his full health and ES in no time. I am mostly OK with other T5 maps. I die occasionally, and some of them take more time than others but eventually, I am able to kill them. I can't put a dent in this one. |

Take it as a hint that your character needs better DPS (or perhaps a good damage over time skill, but that may be hard to fit into a build not geared towards it). Don't expect to be able to kill all bosses on a given map tier with the same build - as someone else said before, different builds struggle with different bosses and their mechanics. There's no shame in postponing a particular difficult map for later, when your character is stronger.
That said, according to the wiki, the boss of Ivory Temple is randomly selected from those appearing in Perandus Manor. So you might encounter an easier boss the next time you try Ivory Temple. I don't remember the boss of Ivory Temple at all, so I guess my minions just slaughtered him. But I, too, have bosses I struggle with. The third boss of the Vaal pyramid usually kills me at least once before my minions get him, and the boss from Infested Valley does so too. It's all about taking the right lessons from these encounters (e.g. my struggling with Infested Valley tells me that I need to improve my chaos resistance). Edit: I haven't played a ranger for years, so I totally might be missing something obvious, but from looking at your character, it seems very focused on killing multiple targets. What's your skill against strong single targets with fast regen? Last edited by Psyringe#7951 on Mar 29, 2018, 1:07:21 AM

Dont remember this boss but:
Frostbomb can help vs regenerating monsters. Some players use cwdt-frostbomb-duration but not sure the cwdt version is useful in your case. The game is balanced with Ascendancy. So if you dont have any then its going to be harder of course. If (for example) you would pick Pathfinder (currently the sort of weakest choice) with 'Natures Boon' you wouldnt run out of flasks so easily. And would do more damage too. Other than that agree with previous posters: Get more DPS (use single target skill setup) or redo map with different boss. On boss balance: Your perspective (its ok to get killed by boss but its not ok to not kill it) is very softcore. From HC perspective bosses which are dangerous are the problematic ones. 'Spider Lair' boss can be quite dangerous in this sense. No wonder it's lost, it's in the middle of the jungle!

There are random Parendus bosses showing in Ivory Temple. I had slight issues with Lightning strike guy because his damage output was for some reason a lot higher than other bosses I encountered. My approach is to quickly dispatch of initial wave of adds and burst down the boss. If you do not have enough DPS to kill boss before adds become a problem, just move away from boss to reduce damage intake and clear adds again. Re-engage boss and finish him, the boss should not regenerate any health as far as I can tell so take your time to clear adds and engage when it is safe.
