Essence of Horror

I ran into a essence mob with 4 essences on it! I corrupted it and ended up with these:



Now I haven't participated in the end game of PoE in about 2-3 years. Usually I just reroll leveling character in order to try things out. So in other words I was looking at horror and I thought that it would be worth the most and sure enough it's selling for 60 chaos!

What exactly will it do to the item level of something I use it on. Will it increase it or leave it the same? And of course I'm dreaming the dream of dual wielding two horror weapons for 32% chance to gain a charge per kill but I would probably end up with a 50 dps sword or something.

Wow that is not how you use horror. There are two ways to use it mainly:
1. On the helmet for RF builds. RF doesn’t have that many good fifth supports so it’s really strong for this purpose.
2. On the gloves for easy crit cap. This is particularly relevant to herald auto bombers.

Additionally, since it’s so valuable, you really want to use it on a high ilvl item. Possibly the even an elder/shaper rare for some especially crazy possible outcomes like 10 links for burning dot spectres.
