Can't get past the character selection screen

Hi, since the 3.2 update, I can launch the game, log in and get to the character selection screen, but when I click "play" a loading screen appears for 1~ second and then I systematically get a "PathOfExile_x64.exe has stopped working" message. I tried reinstalling the game, didn't change a thing. Is anyone having the same issue? :(

Hi, so I have the same problem, I will not get into the game at all. I've tried reinstalling, reducing the options. Nothing helped. I was surprised I can play with two characters I played two years ago, still in the patch 1.3.1 Then I leaved it, but now I can run them. I realy hope that GGG will solve this problem quickly because after hundreds of hours of play and a lot of effort (I can play only occasionally) does not want to leave the game definitively.

i solve it...go to properties->Compatibility->and check "Disable fullscreen optimization"

Thanks for your replies! I tried disabling fullscreen optimization but it didn't work :/

Also, same situation as Zdenda_p's : among all my characters, there's only one that will give me access to the game (in standard). The weird thing is, I can play with that particular character but the game client crashes as soon as I try to go to my hideout.

I don't have any clue about what's causing the systematic crashes, it's pretty frustrating not being able to play the league when everyone's already started :s

It's interesting. I tried to create a new character, and game failed again, but when I opened it again, the character was sawed in the list. Of course unfortunately no possibility to play it.

Did you guys setup your firewall to allow all PoE-files?

That is no problem, poe is allowed in firewall.

Today, I tried to change options try to minimize all settings, and then to my surprise I could play another characters even three new characters developed in 3.1 patch. I returned the options back, and surprised I could still play those characters. I tried to play and after 1 hour of play no crash or fall of game. I could also play with two old characters from patch 1.3. Then after restarting game I could not.
I do not think the problem is in my comp. There is icompatibility in comunication with server. I do not know or imagine where the problem is, but I know I can not change it on my comp. This must be fixed by ggg. I have played Path of Exile for four years and I have never before had such big problems with the game.
