Does Avatar of Fire work with Oro's Sacrifice?
|
At what point does Avatar of Fire do it's calculation? Is it after the sword does it's damage or before?
Meaning if I had Oro's Sacrifice then I got Born to Fight and Blade Master skill points, would getting Avatar of Fire add any damage to my attack? You misunderstood avatar of fire. It converts the damage you actually deal, not the damage boni you get on the skill tree. What you want to use instead is the Fireborn unique jewel.
I make dumb builds, therefore I am.

Oro's Sacrifice deals only fire damage.
Skillpoints that increase physical damage find nothing to work with, so they do nothing. They still only apply to their damage types. And Avatar of Fire does not change your skilltree nodes. AoF looks what kinds of damage you deal, and converts half of the non fire stuff into fire. AoF would convert the base damage of items like this, and the %phys damage nodes in the tree would increase it: ...but this isn't the type of item you want to wear in an Oro's build. 3.5 build: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2299519

That makes sense, thanks. The Fireborn unique jewel can catch the Martial Experience skill point, maybe I'll try that.

" Fireborn is typically best used in the jewel socket directly below Duelist start, where it can convert all of the Destroyer cluster and half the Wrecking Ball cluster. That's worth a great deal of damage to an Oro's Sacrifice build. Martial Experience, by itself, is a somewhat lukewarm proposition for Fireborn, though it is in fact still better than nothing.
