Point Blank + Chaining = ?

How is calculated the damage, once a projectile chains to a second target, if you got Point Blank enabled? Is the distance calculated from ME or from mob to mob?

Neither. The relevant distance is the total distance the projectile has traveled. It does not matter whether it changes direction. In other words, the damage dealt by a projectile affected by Point Blank will continuously decrease over its lifetime.

So if I am to chain, Point Blank sure isn't a good option, except maybe if I was to get Far Shot?

It's not necessarily bad. For trash, you're generally overkilling them by so much that the extra travel distance doesn't change anything (ie. you can still 1 shot from off screen with point blank). For tougher rares and bosses, you'll likely be in their face and not chaining to them anyways so then again, point blank is good.

Point Blank atarts at 50% More and drops to 50% Less. Far Shot starts at null effect and rises to 30% More. Taking both still results in damage dropoff at a distance, just less of it. Depending on how the ranges play, the end graph of What percent Damage Do I Deal may well look weird. The takeaway, however, is that Far Shot does not completely nullify the downsides of Point Blank.
