can same support gems stack?

My question is, can i link 5 same support gems to one skill gem?

I hope it is not the case. It would kill variety.
Who needs minion move speed when you can put 5 minion +damage gems?

I know there will be as many followers as opponents of stacking same support gems.

From my experience with collectible card games, such limitation did more good than bad.
So i am personally for limiting support gems for one same gem per item. I believe that would kill some builds but create much more.
