Elemental Overload and shock damage

Need some clarifications on the EO text that reads "No damage multiplier for ailments from critical strikes"

If I read this correctly, this only affect the ailment crit strike multiplier and not the increased damage taken by shocked monsters correct? i.e. even if you crit with EO on on a shocked mob, you still get the benefits of shock.

It just means that there's no damage modification on a crit compared to a normal hit on your end. So both crit and normal hit deal the same damage.
If that damage is increased by any other means (for example shock), then that's just that: a damage increase. No interactions here.
I make dumb builds, therefore I am.
