"Enemies killed explode dealing 5% of their Life as Fire Damage" doesn't work with DoT

As the title states, the modifier doesn't work if you kill an enemy with a DoT effect. Tried with Righteous Fire and Blight. Both times corpses did not explode. Tried with Ethereal Knives. Everything worked as expected.

This is also the case with the unique two handed mace Quecholli, which has a mod with the exact same wording, albeit with a higher percentage of life as damage.

The unique wand Obliteration on the other hand is also worded the same, but it works completely fine with DoT effects claiming the kill.

I tested this too. doesnt explode at all

But occulist explode works perfectly

Yes, this is really frustrating. I even tested it with ignite. Apparently enemies that you ignite with your modded weapon do not explode. At the very least make the text say "killed with this weapon". Although, It would obviously be better if it worked with DoT.

It's just really frustrating as a player, to put effort into a build that uses a unique mod like this, only to have it not work.

I tried it too with my RF character, only to find you it doesn't work...

But I found another strange behavior, using Bisco's Leash and having a mace with the mod "Enemies killed explode dealing 5% of their Life as Fire Damage" in my alternate weapon set I get the *pops* off kills by the rampage procs.
necroing the bajeebus out of this as it was top result on google for this.

Tried this today with RF still doesn't work, is this intended ? seems like since it rolls only on maces and not sceptres that it's a sidegrade from a more pure power oriented weapon but with the fun added explosions for map clear possibly making up for the loss in single target, please allow this ! <33
