What is the difference between arrow hit and bow damage?
I noticed 3.1 changed the wording on chin sol from:
100% More Bow Damage at Close Range To 100% More Damage with Arrow Hits at Close Range What exactly does this change if anything? IGN: Arlianth Check out my LA build: 1782214 Last edited by Nephalim on Dec 17, 2017, 12:31:27 PM Last bumped on Dec 23, 2017, 10:04:17 PM

My guess would be, if you use the bow for with a projectile spell you won't see any benefit.

Bow Damage counts any Attack that deals Damage.
Arrow Damage only applies to, well, arrows. Explosions are not arrows.
" Ok, this also means that Chin Sol is no longer a good bow for a Shrapnel Shot build? Or let me rephrase: Still good since arrows gets bonus damage, but the AoE doesn't benefit anymore.
" Chin sol + blast rain also no longer is a valid combo. Edit: I also wished ggg would put stuff like that in the patch notes as it has massive consequences for certain builds. Last edited by Bada_Bing on Dec 18, 2017, 7:17:29 AM

" That is totally messed up.... so much for promoting bow single target diversity. IGN: Arlianth

" yup, started this league with a shrapnel shot witch. then just as I was getting ready to trade for a Chin Sol I realized I'd been bamboozled so now I settle for flame surge
So, does "bow damage" affect bow-based ignite/bleed/poison, does it count as "damage with bow attacks"?
