Iron Reflexes and evasion gear/nodes question.

Hello.

When i get Iron Reflexes it says all evasion will go to armour instead, so that made me wonder a few things (and i tried to google all of this for an hour but i'm still confused, their math is just confusing and i didn't get the answers i want).

1- Does Evasion gear basically become Armour gear? Since evasion = armour because of Iron Reflexes.

2- So does that mean 2000 evasion on a chest is 2000 armour?

3- %evasion nodes are basically %armour nodes now?

4- What about %evasion and %armour nodes as one node? For example "plus 25% evasion and 25% armour" nodes give me 50% armour since 25+25=50? Or does it only work as one so it would be 25% armour only and ignores the evasion? (Or the other way around).

I have some high level evasion gear and i want to start a new character with Iron Reflexes so i'm wondering if i can use that evasion gear (since its pretty good).

Thanks.

It's a bit weird actually. It looks like it calculates your evasion normally without dex bonus, then converts that to armor and applies armor nodes. So nodes that only give evasion and nodes that only give armor both work. Nodes that give both evasion and armor are only applied once, it seems, so you only get 12% increased values from a node that says 12% increased evasion and armor.

At least this seems to be the way PoB calculates it. But maybe I have missed something.
no it is not weird. it works the same as any other conversion. evasion part will be increased by both armour and evasion modifiers. those stack additively as all the increased mods in game.

hybrid armour and evasion mods in duelist area will be applied only once as the same modifier can never apply twice.

I see, thanks a lot guys :)
So is there any reason to pick up Iron Reflexes these days besides using Grace for its flat armor value?

Not wanting to get oneshotted because RNGesus didn't let you evade is a pretty good one. You're also better off using AA instead of Grace for various reasons.
Currently being stalked around these forums by some clowns who caught feelings over being called out at being grossly inept at their job.

Hybrid pieces can have assloads of Ar/Ev. Not the most impressive piece, but 2269 Armour, half of which scales with Increased Evasion Rating? Pretty decent.

You can also build Armour + Spell Dodge through the use of Iron Reflexes: The Perfect Form, Atziri's Step. Covers one of the weaknesses of Armour quite nicely.
if u wanna go right side with armour then its great, theres a space to do that. I use evasion + es + life gear on a block duelist with iron reflexes and aegis aurora, going straight up the right side through ranger and shadow, crit sword. Its niche but it has its uses.

Those new split ev + ar mods are sick, u can get about 3k combined defense on a dragonscale that has a full life roll now, madness. They needed it tho cause they were shit before, I make a lot of hybrid builds and I feel like you always went pure armour chest on a hybrid ar+ev character because of the scaling and the available sources of flat armour vs flat evasion.
I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)

Perfect form as mentioned.

Also if you blind enemies it's useful. Blind is much more effective when you have 0% evade as opposed to say 50% evade
