Heartbound Loop Cloak of Flame self-ignite

I have previously seen this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SDEv-ZmEPxc&feature=youtu.be

But i am unable to ignite myself with a similar setup

I tested wearing only 3 items, chieftain with hinekora, death's fury
mokou's embrace
cloak of flames
heartbound loop

and I could see myself taking fire damage, but was unable to ignite myself, I wonder what might be the problem here.

mhm sounds after the conversion to fire from the physical hit, the Mokou's Embrace didnt count anymore.

With Eye of Innocence it works but its fire damage direct, without conversion...

but why you would like to be ignitet like this? whats your initial idea?

You can loop ignite with Eye of Innocence and cwdt setup + mokou's
oh...

I have ancestral bond, it is very difficult to ignite myself.

And in the video it clearly works, although im not sure if it was from mokou's embrace.
This is due to the Ailment refactor of 3.0: Ignite used to calculate based on Damage Taken (ie. after defender-side modifiers), but now calculates off Base Damage (before any multipliers).

Heartbound Loop deals exclusively Physical Damage, and as such its Ignite damage is now zero, even if you modify that Damage to Fire Damage later down the line.
Ah... thanks for the quick explanation; that really clears things up.

Its pretty sad though, so there is literally no way to reliably ignite myself with ancestral bond in 3.0.
