Does "Decay" work with "Deadly Ailments"

As the title says does the decay work with deadly ailments?
My decay deals 110chaos damage per second,if i link it with deadly ailments the damage dosnt change. So my question is : Does it work but the tooltip of the skill dosnt shows it or dosnt it work at all? Last bumped on Aug 20, 2017, 9:14:15 PM

It doesn't work - Decay isn't an ailment. Poison, bleed, ignite, freeze, chill and shock are the ailments.

So what would be a skill or support gem that would let me poison the mobs on hit?
