Necromancer and the "Commander of Darkness"

Hello,i switch to necromancer 2 seconds ago and skilled the "Commander of Darkness" node.
It says i should get 30% increased damage and 20% increased resistances to all elements for me and my allies when i have an aura on.
For example i only have 40% cold resistance if i should activate for example blasphemy+warlords mark i should get 30% more damage and 20% element resistances right?
Sadly it dosnt work,is there something i miss? Dosnt it work if i am alone and do i need allies around me to work it?

It only works with non-curse auras.

Shouldnt it work with with herald of thunder for example?

Herald of Thunder is not an aura. It's a buff that reserves mana, but not all of those are auras. Herald of Thunder only applies to you.
