Crafting steel rings

Yeah so for regular jewelry I would just alch spam an entire stash page full of high ilvl ones then pray I get at least sellable ones, not even hoping for one to use, but for a steel ring that is kinda expensive and I want to craft them for personal use, which method had the best pay off?

I was initially thinking of chaos spamming, since it can roll many things, but would like a regular alt spam regal method have better chances of resulting in usable jewelry?

I only need phys, life and a res on it, not necceseraly 3 T1, but at least hitting T2 prefixes and a T3 res would make it all right, that's exactly 3 mod, but I remember burning trough 2-300+ alts just to get a relatively usable life with resist on rings so it kinda makes me uncomfortable, what if I have to use 2-300 regals, because then chaosing would be a bit more attractive.
