Why does Carcass jack work with some AOE skill but not others?

There are some aoe skill benefitting from carcass jack's increased aoe damage mod, but not all, and I can't seem to find a pattern
magma orb, frostbolt and ball lightning are very similar, aoe proj skill, but only magma orb can benefit from carcass jack, and it's not a elemental type thing, lightning tendrils and frostbomb does work with the unique chest. What is the reason? Last bumped on Aug 17, 2017, 9:10:30 AM

" My bad on frostbolt, a thought so mistake, but what's with ball lightning, this current character I made is a remake of one of my older build, ball lightning totem inquisitor, I remember (kinda) clearly carcass jack has a tooltip boost then. Ball lightning doesn't do AoE damage at all. Lightning strikes come from the ball and hit targets. The only reason it has an AoE tag is that the range of the lightning strikes is an area. Just like Lightning Arrow. The AoE effect is not AoE damage, just the amount of area the lightning damage can reach.
