Game crashes at The Brine Bing bossfight

I've had 2-3 seperate instances of the game freezing then crashing while leveling, but now im consistently crashing over and over when trying to fight The Brine King.
My first attempt at him i crashed like 40 seconds into the fight, now whenever i run back and try to fight him again it crashes within 5-10 seconds of me engaging him.

EDIT: After crashing again, I lowered my texture settings and water detail then managed to kill The Brine King. Maybe the crash has something to do with the water particles? Not sure.

I had immediate crashes with high water detail. I lowered it to low and got to fight normally.
