How about removing rng from mtx race rewards?

I never understood the concept of having a random draw for MTX awards in races. They don't cost you anything and don't offer the player any items like season RP awards.
A lot of players who race have already dropped hundreds of dollars and/or hours on the game, so how about making MTX rewards a sure thing when meeting the requirement. Show a bit of appreciation to players for taking the time to participate? PoE needs players just as players need PoE, its a symbiotic relationship.
I got to lvl 85+ in the mayhem race and didn't get a single thing out of it, the characters were also voided. Its not a big deal, but just feels lame. Maybe make it so that at least one mtx is rewarded out of the pool based on the level threshold met.

getting free stuff is good from player perspective of course, but I don't think GGG loses much by having them RNG based. After all, the main rewards aren't drawed.
It is there so more people participate in races. It allows more casual players a chance at winning something. They only have to hit certain milestones to have a chance at winning a reward, rather than have to be in the top 1000 or whatever of an event.
It's not a giveaway, it's price.

The "rng" rewards are there to give everyone that cannot be among the best a chance to get something, so that the races do not feel mandatory.

Of course, if the chance to get something free isn't to your liking maybe they can remove it again so only the top best people get something.

Lol I think there's a bit of misunderstanding going on.

I'm not asking them to remove the MTX rewards, I'm asking to remove the RNG element associated with the rewards, so that everyone who reaches a certain level threshold gets at least one guaranteed mtx from the list.

I understand that this costs GGG a potential sale of the same mtx, in that case there should be non-season reward points or something else. This is more applicable to void races, since in others the players at least get to keep their items/characters. It feels lame to get to lvl 90+ in a voided race and not get anything to show for it.
Before GGG added random draws to the race reward prize pool, only the top 20 overall or top of each class would get anything. Random draws at least provide some incentive for players who know they can't rank amongst the top to participate at all.

I like the random draws. Encouraging even the worst racers to participate is the only way they'll race enough to get better. There needs to be some hope/optimism (and race participation isn't necessarily free, there's an opportunity cost, especially for voided races).

However, what you're asking for is to guarantee rewards for participation, which is antithetical to racing. GGG and players who enjoy racing still want there to be some sense of urgency/competition in the event.

But you're right in some ways, in that the competition is still focused too strongly on only the top, where everyone else is just casually reaching a threshold level for a ticket to the random draw. GGG tries to address this by making the higher threshold levels difficult to obtain but the result is often too binary, either you hit the threshold easily or give up early because you know you can't reach it. It's more fun to have a little uncertainty and compete against players real-time, especially back when they lost their standing if they died, since the possibility of catastrophic events for other players gave you a chance to win from a position that was very far behind.

What GGG should be doing is guaranteeing a lesser reward for the top 20% (excluding characters below level 4 since it would be too easy to inflate your standing by spamming level 1 characters in the race), in addition to the big reward for the top 0.001%, so more players feel like they're actually competing for something (while keeping the random draws for reaching level thresholds to encourage broad participation).
Never underestimate what the mod community can do for PoE if you sell an offline client.

I know that's what you want mate, i'm just telling you it's made the way it is on purpose since its a price not a giveaway and the rest of us don't want races to be mandatory by giving free mtx routinely.

I do like the suggestion though of letting top X%(like top 8%) of the playerbase get a small one on longer races(not like few hours and shit), excluding characters below Y level. That should also give you what you want as well and i guess it would for some reason make me feel better to skip the events, feeling that they earned it by their effort more.
