Blood rage life steal work with spell damage?
Hey guys so I am attempting to make a lightning witch that is actually viable. I am pretty dang squishy and have recently spec'ed into CI and ghost reaver, and picked up blood rage in the hopes of being able to regain ES very quickly while attacking enemies. My question is, does life leech from the blood rage spell work with spell damage? Or is it only physical damage that it works with?
As far as I can tell, my ES is not recharging at all when attacking enemies. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! |

"4% of Physical Damage from Attacks Leeched Back as Life"
Physical = Not elemental. spells are elemental. Attack = weapon hits, not spells. It would work with a Power Siphon Build I think, but nothing else. What you want is a Rejuv Totem. Try it :) Last edited by Draqone#6618 on Feb 24, 2013, 5:42:20 PM

Thanks man.
Not really sure how I missed this. Now I just feel dumb. I could have sworn the in game tool tip just says life steal as opposed to physical life steal. Anyways, thanks! |

" False. there are physical spells and elemental attacks. EK and Bear Trap are both physical spells. But as they're both spells the life leech does not affect them like you said. The only ones that DO work with EK are the life leech and mana leech support gems. |

" im sorry but this is semi false information. please learn your terminology of the game plz the real answer is that blood rage only states that "4% Amount of Physical Damage from Attacks Leeched Back as Life" now there are 3 different types of damage, physical, chaos, and elemental (this is further broken up into fire, cold, and lightning) in this ability it says that 4% of the physical damage attacks is subjected to leech life. now the problem with he above comment is hes saying that spells are elemental damage, that is false. there are a handful of spells which do physical damage. such as bear trap, etheral knives, and a portion of detonate dead is physical. but since those are all spells, this would not work with blood rage. good rule of thumb to tell what is a spell, and what is an attack is just look at the ability and look at the tag lines, you'll see spell or attack on them. another way to tell is if the damage is based off your weapon's damage, then it is an attack, if it has its own base damage, then its a spell. http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/120959 My guides
