Making Prefix Suffix and Hybrid mods easy to recognize
I have suggestion to make Prefix Suffix and Hybrid mods easy to recognize, either by color or simply by pressing alt and showing more info about item mods, this idea mainly comes because i want to craft with essence and lack of info about mod affix is bit annoying, also those hybrid mods especially item rarity, also it would help for new people in game who what to craft and lack of info is painful when you buy item and you think you craft 1 mod from master but you cant because of hybrid mod, so maybe show more info by pressing alt button, either showing different color of mods, symbol of prefix, suffix, hybrid or just simply by info.
Sorry for my English if i did some mistakes :D Last edited by Lettheim#5940 on Jun 24, 2017, 2:43:56 AM Last bumped on Jun 24, 2017, 9:53:28 PM

This should have been fixed long ago. And becomes more important with 3.0.
I dont think they == GGG (seriously) play their own game. At least not as SSF - which wouldnt allow them to bypass such things with trading. No wonder it's lost, it's in the middle of the jungle!

When you buy items you can check on poe trade if the mods are suffix or preffix, they are showed right to the stats. Red P for preffix and blue S for Suffix. If the mod is hybrid then it's ?? in white.
You can also check poe wiki for the complete list of affixes and guides to crafting gear. |

Your idea of being showed by pressing alt or something would be great though. It would be much easier specially for new players to recognize the mods and learn how to craft and get an idea of the value of an item when they want to sell it or buy.

Maybe just showing which is prefix or suffix on the crafting table would be a great solution so you don't have to minimize game and check wiki when you are buying something and don't know if the mod you want is preffix or suffix. By the way items can have 3 and 3 of each, but I'm not entirely sure how hybrid mods work, they seem to only occupy one slot and it doesn't seem both at same time.
Definitely more info on crafting is needed. |

It's pretty clear that GGG likes that players NEEDS to read up a bit, and seek some information on their own. But yes, a lot of things could've been more clear in game.
Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you.

it's been while reading about failed attempts of players to build an algorithm which automatically evaluates (and prices) item mods that i realised that this is the intention behind ggg obscuring their affix system.
they want people find the prices for their items themselves, some unexperienced players failing in that allows other players to make deals. nothing is more motivating to participate on the market in the first place. an item pricing tool which would sooner or later result in uniform prices for rare items would seriously hurt the ecomomy and the variety of option this game has. age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!

" Except when we know that the Chinese version has a built-in tooltip detailing everything about affixes and tiers. GGG requiring people to read up on game mechanics was great in 2013, but the game has evolved and is no longer the hardcore ARPG experience that it was where it was expected that the people playing were going to research everything, yet the game's tutorials and tooltips have not progressed at all. |

" And I did agree with that with my last sentence. I merely tried to be emphatic, and see things from their perspective. Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you.

" For some items it is (far as I know) not possible to determine which mods they have unless you spend currency on the item. In practice this doesnt happen very often. However for me in practice I sometimes have to put an item into a crafting bench to figure out which mods it has. Simply telling the player the mods right on the item would be much preferred. No wonder it's lost, it's in the middle of the jungle!
