Any way to abandon optional quest?

I want to abandon the "A Fixture of Fate" quest from Act 3. Any way to do that?

Thanks in advance

No, but what's the point of that anyway?

Optional quests in this game are basically quests that won't block you from progressing, doesn't mean they are something you might as well just skip and not bother with, especially considering that they are all around the same area the story line goes.

There is no point in abandoning a side quest in this game. ESPECIALLY this one, as it unlocks some of the best support gems in the game.
I make dumb builds, therefore I am.
Interesting; I assumed the thread would be about A Swig of Hope, as in the past I've started this quest only to have the damn Decanter Spiritus sit in my inventory for forever and a day. It was back when I was fairly new to the game, and I wasn't sure how to figure out which difficulty I'd gotten it in. It can't be destroyed, it can't be placed in your stash... incredibly poor design imo.

I do agree with the others that it's probably worth completing this quest to access more support gems. If you're not sure which difficulty you started the quest on, you can press U to open your map and view your quests in each area, in each difficulty. You should find a loose candle in a wall near Siosa which can be used to access the zone where you do the quest.

I can understand the frustration if you're stuck with a couple of unwelcome quest items. But once you decide to tackle it, the quest shouldn't take you too long to do. :)

... but if you are in a combat zone, it can be dropped on the ground and left to rot forever!
