Magikarp Jump is not terribly strategic, but those fishies are cute

I got the android app Magikarp Jump and it's pretty fun

Instead of a Grinding Gear Game it's a Grinding Fish Power Game

I'm at Gen 10 and it's already too repetitive for me haha

These clicker games are so strange. I think I like them, but they're just a skin over a math problem...

Anyway I'm on my 4th generation magikarp now. Punch that punching bag, lil' guy.

I really don't play a lot of mobile games. I do play that dipshit card game but I'm trying to quit.

When you say skin over a math problem I immediately think of "RPG Clicker" phone app which us exactly what it says it is. It is an unabashed unashamed distillation of the core RPG pleasure mechanic (upgrading character) and little else, much like D3, except that you don't actually ever hit any gear walls. Oh, the next sword deals 30% more damage than my current one. Oh, the next weapon deals 30% more damage than that. Soon, you find yourself dealing millions of millions of damage per hit, and yet somehow the next sword still deals 30% more damage than your current one.

I think there's nothing wrong with stimulating your monkey brain sometimes! It doesn't always have to be a complex puzzle like PoE is in comparison. One for one mood, and another for another.
