Please explain casttime to me!
Well, once again I'm to stupid to figure shit out myself so please don't let me die stupid and help me out on this one. Today I realized that my 20/20 VRF says 1 sec. casttime but that just isn't true because whenever I have enough souls and I press the button it goes boom without me having to wait for 1 second. Same goes for VIC it says 0.85 sec casttime but I'm pretty sure that when I have enough souls and I press the button it works immediately. Therefore I'm to stupid to figure out how casttime works with those skills. Please explain it to me!

Cast time on spells is like attacks per second on weapons.
It's the baseline state. Increased cast speed modifiers improve it, just as increased attack speed improves a weapon's attacks per second. You have to be realistic about these things.

" I'm not that stupid. ^^ I know how the concept should work but I don't get why those 2 skills I mentioned go of immediatly when I press the button even without having them linked to faster casting. Oh, I see. Sorry about that, I didn't pay close enough attention to the question.
Well, I assume there would be a delay if you wanted to cast the skill immediately after the first time you cast it? I guess it works like a kind of cooldown. Might be wrong though, that's pure conjecture. You have to be realistic about these things. Logen Ninefingers Last edited by Bars#2689 on Jun 13, 2017, 8:12:09 AM

" The delay is that you have to collect new souls for these vaal skills. :) VRF = Vaal Righteous Fire VIC = Vall Immortal Call German saying: Schönheit und Funktionalität in Sekundenschnelle zu ruinieren, ist dem wahren Dilettanten keine Herausforderung!

Yes, I realize that.
Just speaking from a hypothetical standpoint. Meaning, if the skill is essentially on cooldown, there's no delay. You can see this with vaal lightning trap, it can store multiple uses and has a cast time of 1 sec, the first time is instantaneous, but then there is some delay until you can throw a trap again. You have to be realistic about these things. Logen Ninefingers Last edited by Bars#2689 on Jun 13, 2017, 9:21:34 AM

Cast time is how long the character is prevented from taking another action, it does not necessarily represent the time you have to wait for the skill to have an effect.

" But even that is not the case here. I can for example activate VIC and immediatly cast some other spell after that without having 1 second to wait. German saying: Schönheit und Funktionalität in Sekundenschnelle zu ruinieren, ist dem wahren Dilettanten keine Herausforderung!

" Sure, this can happen when the effect happens near the end of the cast. Haven't used VIC in a long while but I definitely remember being able to get stunned out of the animation, losing the souls. |
