Single Hand Skills Suggestion

As much as i know, in PoE we can either use dual weapons,
weapon+shield or 2 handed weapons as melee.

But tbh i like the style of single hand combat,
so i came up with an idea of using full power in one hand only.

Aura

While usable only with a single one handed weapon, disables the other slot,
The aura makes you concentrate all your power in your main hand.
While this way the aura doubles the damage of a single weapon,
you may lose the potential of having another weapon's or shield's stats and gem sockets.
Therefore has its pros and cons. but certainly its a change in combat style.

Attack
(not connected to the aura, so could be used while wearin a shield)

Usable with a one handed/bladed weapon,
Similar to blade flurry, the character stops for a stance to charge,
while charging/channeling, a ghostlike figure comin out of the character, like it's spirit,
attacking with Vertical slashes coming up from the ground and pushing forward....

...these slashes could count as projectiles,
therefore could be modified in amount and speed,
adding additional slashes and widen the cone shape.

---Releasing the button at full charge,
releases a wide, "slowly" moving forward, moon shaped AoE attack....

Spoiler

This part of the skill could be modified by AoE modifiers,
such as increase, decrease Area of effect or damage.
Maybe the slash's speed could be modified by attack speed.

Feel free to leave your thoughts about the ideas, thanks for reading!

Lol, getsuga tenshou.

So basically you want a blade flurry which uses projectiles instead of AOE, and at full stages, releases an AOE attack which also moves the character forward.

Well not gonna lie, i ve seen the same style slashes in other games and they were cool.
PoE could even have modifiable mechanics for both parts, which is awsome.
1) How do you propose this to work with the 3 Goddess swords (Soon to be replaced by Oni-Goroshi) which are 1 handed swords that have a smidge of extra power to help them be competitive to 2H

2) Aura seems like it might just super power Wand builds, which already pretty much just rely on a single good Wand. Also how would it scale? Would it only scale AoE and just be flat 100% more damage (I assume more, since Increased would be meh)? Have you checked whether 1 handed weapons DPS is actually half of 2H or DW?

Since it sounds like this would be a massive source of damage, far outweighing what 2H/DW can achieve for really the loss of a stat-stick for DW and the 6L for 2H. I mean, a lot of builds already use 1H + Shield and do crazy damage...

3) Attack kind of just seems like Blade Flurry x Spectral Throw x Lacerate... I mean, honestly, most of the skill could be replicated literally by an MTX for Blade Flurry (Changing the spectral dudes flying out from you into the "Slashes" and then the returning dude into the "Crescent Slice"). Really just the Projectile and AoE tags that make it different.

I personally think it should strive to be a bit more mechanically distinct to existing skills to be honest. I mean, the animations themselves all seem fine and dandy. But honestly, it just feels lacking in mechanics when trying to smush them all together.

I mean, theoretically, both parts of the attack could be made into unique skills on their own.

Like, the slices part could be a Ground Slam/Ethereal Knives amalgamation for Swords/Daggers and maybe Axes. So instead of being GS which is a cone AoE, it could instead send out a bunch of piercing projectiles in a cone.

Then the crescent part, could be a Flameblast-esk channelled skill for Melee. So the longer you charge it up, the bigger and more damaging it becomes. Possibly also affecting its speed too (So you can send out smaller, less damaging slices that move faster, or go full damage with a big ass crescent that slowly creeps forward to murder everything)
a single handed skill sounds cool the math on the other hand (double damage) doesn't sound realistic.

Just so the OP is aware many/most of the melee skills in the game only use the main hand weapon so technically you have a LOT of single handed skills it's just instead of rewarding an empty hand it's giving you an opportunity to add the stats in your off hand to your character.

I know you're looking for more of a Swashbuckling (as it's called in D&D) one handed style.
Pandering to players who don't want consequences for their mistakes is a perfect description of what went fundamentally wrong with D3 and 4.
If they wanted mindless mobile game time waster gameplay they sure did make some perplexing choices and marketing statements for 6 fucking years.
