Base chance to ignite.

It's literally no where to be found. Fire has no ailment duration requirements so it can proc on literally any fire hit. With 0% crit and no other sources of ignite chance, what is the base chance to ignite a target that is NOT immune to ignite?

As a side question, is the AoE from Herald of Ash considered an ignite?

(Extra, pointless stuff.)
Please don't tell me about how crits with ailments work. I've read way to many pages of people asking the same question I am with people responding that they should just crit instead. I can't stress enough that, that info is already out there for anyone to find and doesn't need to be repeated. Probably ever lol.

Stabbing in the dark I would assume it's 5%, but is there another secret mechanic that give it a damage threshold to proc regardless of crit or chance or is it just a truly random 5% chance with no help?

Thank in advance for any help you may offer kind stranger.
(I'm sorry if I missed something obvious in the ignite wiki, I've read it several times. I just can't seem to find any actual numbers for the base chance.)

There is no base ignite chance. You can't ignite unless you crit or have % ignite chance from tree/gear. If you have it, % chance to ignite is pure chance, there are no complicated mechanics.

Yes.
Have you done something awesome with Sire of Shards? PM me and tell me all about it!

Thank you very much. Is there any person to message or ask to put that in the wiki? Since it doesn't actually say you can't ignite without forcing it through gems, jewels, gear or skill tree? Appreciate the quick and efficient response. GL/HF!
