Lore on ascendencies classes
|
Hey exiles, I wonder if anyone has more information / thoughts about who were the ascendants (Slayer, Inquisitor, Berserker etc etc) from the game. There is a quote about 19 souls who survived the Labyrinth somewhere, but not a word more.
It would be nice if GGG relased some kind of lore, short story regarding each ascendency. Anyone has any theory regarding this subject? Based alone on the text, I can infer the Slayer, for example, is some kind of bounty hunter, or a "DC's Punisher" kind of warrior, while the champion looks someone who fights defending a higher cause, for example. What are your thoughts on the ascendants? Last bumped on May 20, 2017, 3:18:45 PM

They are quite self descriptive, there is lore behind each class, ascendancy tho, is just a specialization, it's not a new class.
If you need some sort of lore behind what's a necromancer or juggernaut, assassin or any other specialization, having no lore behind it is the least of your problems. No rest for the wicked.

You are wrong. Read the content shown in the game:
"Nineteen souls survived the Trials of Ascendancy. Nineteen men and women stood at the gates of the Lord's Labyrinth. Nineteen challengers whose exceptional martial and mystical talents still linger long after their death." They aren't just specializations, nor I need your sarcasm or any stupid explanation about generic rpg classes. The quote above mentions different individuals, with different background story. I understand the ascendency as some kind of path you choose to follow, in honor of their attempt on the labyrinth (apparently they died, it's not clear they completed the lab or not). I find that it would be cool to know more about these characters, too bad they didn't add it. Last edited by Haadd#5888 on May 12, 2017, 7:05:49 PM

Couldn't care less what you think, it is generic, and they are exactly that - specializations.
Nor was my intent to be sarcastic. If you want lore, switch a game or use that lump on your shoulders and add your own. Besides the quote you just gave me....kinda proves my point. No rest for the wicked.

They were basically people who challenged labyrinth and failed the souls trapped in it and you inherit their powers is all there is to it.
