Decoy totem for end game?

Just got a 12% decoy totem to drop so I thought I'd try it out as the quality bonus gives it more life.

Now given it's only level 8 at the moment but it dies in 1-2 hits in the 63+ areas I've been running. I am wondering, is DT more of a 'leveling skill' that has no use in endgame? Or should I keep leveling it (and decrease my chance of selling in the process)?

Also can I pair it with minion life?
Totems aren't minions so minion life doesn't work. Iirc, there's only 2 passives for totem life too.

Not too sure about Decoy Totem end-game but my Flame Totems at 60+ are taking quite a few hits before going down. Not at maps yet but still.

I don't believe you can pair it with minion life, but it's not used for "tanking". To be honest, you can't "tank" mobs past level 50. It's just used for the initial aggro it gives and after it dies you put up another one. I'd pair it with faster casting and call it a day.
yeah i did pair it with faster casting, but it just doesnt worth the cast when i could be smashing mobs. Guess I'll sell it thanks for the fast replies ;)
Decoy totem is pretty good in end game if you level it. Mine can take quite a beat before going down even if its 2 or 3 sec its enough for my duelist to cleave through them mobs in merciless.

As for maps yes this is still good too, to divide the mobs and thus making your life a bit easier. spawn one let them run to hit hit some mobs when the totem is about to die spawn it a bit further so that them mobs move around. I also use temporal chains which make them move slowly.

However i havent use any other totems, shockwave seems lacking since i am a melee, rejuvenation is not really that great compare to decoy, spell or ranged totem and flame totem have not tried those so dunno.

Agree with bitedefer, decoy totem really usefull in end game, cause thats my primary spell to protect me from agro monster. Im a summoner, so i use it to check map, before i walk. U dont know what waiting u in the bush hehe. About quality yeah it very helping, if u are summoner thou. Cause ur pet will block most of the monster. Only few who escape and run to totem

Get a Spell Totem + Firestorm + Chance to Flee + whatever else you want (Faster Cast/Cold Damage/etc).

It will probably hold off mobs better by making them run away for a short time.
IIRC totems have half your HP without bonuses, so if you don't have very much hp then neither will the totem.
Flicker strike mobs?

Put down a decoy totem.

Saved my life so many times.
