Help with Breaches
Since I got my current character (Ice Shot Ranger going full evasion SSF) to merciless in the Legacy league, I just die really quickly when poking these nifty Breach things.
I didn't play in the Breach league, so I'm wondering if there is something important I might be missing. If there isn't, does anyone have any tips for surviving Breaches? Thanks Last bumped on May 4, 2017, 7:13:53 AM

Breaches are simply more difficult and dangerous than the normal game. There is no special trick (that I know of) for making them easy.
For most builds the important part is that you can (and do) quickly kill everything. Maybe with the exception of some fat rare mobs. If you cannot do that you will have to get more damage output. There are some builds which can facetank a whole breach but in general this is not viable. When doing a breach avoid the focused elemental damage from the rare breach mobs. Dont stand in the fire columns and esh lightning balls. Esh/lightning breaches are extra dangerous - especially if you do not have shock immune. I would advise to preemptively move every ~1 second so that you do not end up "lightning balled". Esh mobs also produce shocking ground. For Tul/cold breaches chill immunity (flask or item or Ascendancy) helps a lot. Terrain: Only use Breach leaguestone in open layouts. The dangerous elmental effects can also stack up against terrain obstacles. Vs physical breach you probably want bleed immune(flask) & phys mitigation(flask) but they are relatively rare. Leaguestones: It helps to add a 'Rampage' leaguestone to your 'Breach' leaguestone. If you are outside of a Breach (shooting into it) you should move preemptively - like vs the Esh breaches. No wonder it's lost, it's in the middle of the jungle!

The easiest way to handle breaches is having enough dps to butcher the rares, buildup of rares especially ones with auras can be extremely dangerous if you don't have the damage to kill them at an appropriate speed.
Other than that its just move constantly, pot constantly and make sure you pots handle the affix your likely to run into. All breaches need bleed immunity from what i remember but uul-netol in particular, esh needs shock immunity but you can get away with it if you play well. I wouldn't even run a tul breach without chill immunity as the movement speed debuff really ramps up the damage you take, xophs are easiest. Also agreed with Zrevnur, if your worried about breaches in the current league run them paired with appropriate stones, on my less breach able characters I was running breach + rampage + domination as my leagues so i could clear the breaches with a shrine or two and got rewarded for kill streaks. Really did make a difference. |

Running a Sapphire Flask of Heat for Tul Breaches,
a Topaz Flask of Grounding for Esh Breaches, and a Ruby Flask of Staunching for Xoph (and all other) Breaches helped me a lot. And is extremely budget friendly. |

Is there a way to tell which type of breach it is before popping it?

" Nah, Steiner1 was probably equating "Breach" with "Breachlord Domain" Need game info? Check out the Wiki at: https://www.poewiki.net/

" There is not. Each one does have its own "air" effect though, so as soon as it starts spreading you can kind of tell, even before there are necessarily any mobs specific to that breach type. (ie. Esh's clouds have static electricity sparking around, Uul Netol has a kind of dark red brown cloudiness, Chayula's is a deep dark purple splatter, etc.) U MAD?

Okay than. Thanks for the tips.
I thought I was Running a Breach with a Rampage league stone last night, and then discovered it was an Onslaught. XD Also found out that grabbing a Divine Shrine just before hopping into a Breach helps. One other thing, Is it supposed to be possible to see Hands as a distortion on the ground before you open the Breach? |

" This feature exists since Breach league and is "well known" - so I would say "sort of yes". If you have a 'Chayula' leaguestone it may be worth it to deliberately look for the hands before opening the breach. No wonder it's lost, it's in the middle of the jungle!
