Chaos damage on axes

I've been unable to find any info on if chaos damage for axes is good or not.



This is what I'm curious about. Anyone?

I was going to go into detail about things but then realized no matter how I worded it, it all boiled down to a simple "No".

So I'll just leave it at that. No. It's not sought after. It's difficult to scale well. If you want a good 2H axe, get flat physical and physical % increases. Not flat chaos.
Bring back race seasons.
Though curious, like about a few other mechanics in this game, this will do.

Rare axes are mostly useless. The chances you'll find one on par with disfavour is almost zero.

Sadly this is true for most rare bases.

for flat chaos melee I assume you would want to scale excessive attack speed ergo 2h axe probably isn't going to cut it
Essentially it boils down to "Not really"

Due to a variety of factors.

Such as:

- Generally, for flat damage, you want high attack speed because you'll hit more often with that flat damage and so pump out more damage. Axes (Especially 2h ones) are not so good for stacking AS with.

- Scaling the Chaos damage is difficult to do, especially since the chaos nodes are literally the opposite side of the tree to Axe nodes.

- A primary reason for wanting Chaos damage is to stack poison (As then Chaos damage nodes will boost the flat chaos damage (So bigger poison DoTs) and then also the poison itself). But if you're going poison melee, why not Viper Strike which can't be used with an Axe.

So in the end, it comes down to a simple Axes, you want Physical damage. This not only is simple to scale (Since axe nodes all do phys), but it then will be amplified by Herald of Ash and Hatred which scale off specifically physical damage.

Poison melee is just regular melee, almost every melee build uses poison. Heck, sometimes people will slot added chaos just to get a bigger poison scaling (See Mathil's dreamfeather as an example)

Don't listen to these guys, you can use that for a Poison-Cycloner which will be able to run ALL MODS.

It works fine :)

honestly , the chaos mods are fine on bases with Crit or attack speed, otherwise they are useless. And no, a poison cycloner with "all mods" is not necessarly good or optimal.



With such weapons, a t2-t1 chaos mod is far better than ele mods. and still better than a weak % increased + accuracy mod - 10/30% wont help.
I will never be good but always I try to improve.
