Getting currency + value Guide?
|
When i was starting PoE, there were a lot of guides like that. Anything actual somone can recommend here?
Im talking mainly about lower maps/game areas etc. I know uber lab and stuff are good for drops, but folks on forum are talking about 1ex/hour farming area, and im still here, vendoring items for chaos recipe. Halp? ;) Last bumped on Mar 28, 2017, 11:48:00 AM

get an item filter (preferably neversink's), use the strict version
only pickup rare jewelery and rare items with bases that can have good values speed farm maps or dried lake, hope for good drops which can be sold. the longer you play/day, the richer you get. and watch streamers how they manage their whealth and which builds they recommend because that heavily influences item prices. --- basically it's all about you being able to ignore your desire to ident and vendor all rare items and pickup crap currency (which i can't). offline

Im using regular Neversink filter (and its damn awesome), im mainly getting things for chaos recipe, some good base for crafting etc, some crap too, but im trying to vendor from map maybe once or twice, nothing more, to keep up farm speed.
ATM im doing t8-t9 modded and damn if i can get anything else then chaos from recipes. Prices are generally speaking terribly low if you are not selling top endgame item. Thats my main problem here, tho - ppl are talking like if it was possible to effectivly farm one area and gather exalts, and im getting just chaos orbs ;D TY for help, btw ;P |

as a follow up, i wouldn't trust those guys saying they farm 1 exalt per hour if they don't show how they do it. some people feed on making other player feel miserable.
speaking of which, directly comparing yourself to streamers is dangerous if you don't play 15+ hours per day and accept dollars and ingame gifts for doing it. the average player finds 2 to 6 exalts per league, depending on luck. if you happen to chance/find skyforths or headhunter and sell them, your currency tab will look like you farmed the hell out of the game when you just got lucky. knowledge is king in poe, for example some years ago i never really played energy shield based characters and so had no idea of value ranges until some guy pointed me to some shield i had offered much too cheap with 2 exalts. using the poe item script is a nice start if you don't know item stat ranges by heart. although it permanently fails at hybrid mods (like any other tool) it's a good indicator if an item has good stats and maybe is worth more than the usual 1c. offline

You're probably picking up more than you should be. You are probably spending too much time doing things other than killing monsters. Those are the two most common things that people can change to start playing more efficiently.
