[2.6] Elemental Ethereal Knives Beserker
This is the guide for a non crit Elemental Ethereal knives Beserker which I have been playing during the legacy league. The build is fairly strong and isn't ridiculously expensive to get running. It is hardcore viable with me having played into the early 80's at the start of the league, before I made the switch to LSC to play with friends.

Shaped Courtyard T15 Mods were: Area has patches of chilled ground Players are cursed with Vulnerability +40 monster physical damage reduction Unique boss deals 35% increased damage Unique Boss has 30% increased attack and cast speed 60% less effect of curses on monsters Players gain 50% reduced flask charges Shaped Colonnade T15 Mods were: 42% more monster life Monsters have 100% increased area of effect Monsters have 90% chance to avoid elemental status ailments 26% increased monster damage Unique boss has 35% increased life Unique boss has 70% increased Area of effect This ended up as a bad boss fight due to me running out of mana, this was mostly due his es regen when he goes into his tent firestorm phase. Most map mods are fairly straightforward with this build, no leech maps are out of the question however. Elemental reflect is possible it heavily depends on map mods however. The shaper, guardians and atziri should all be viable, you may have to stop running your curse for something like warlords mark for more mana leech or clarity. The shaper should be doable but you'd need to change some gems around as the fight goes on for a while and you wont be able to sustain mana as it is now. Notable Items

- For this build we want to be using a bow, which bow is up to you however. I chose a rare bow for the mere fact that it can roll the '+1 to level of socketed gems' mod, which is a sizable increase in dps. If you wish to also use a rare bow I would probably look for either a ilvl 50+ crude or short bow, preferably six linked. These aren't too expensive and will give you a strong base for your character. A five link is more than enough however. If you wish to use a unique the ones I would recommend would be either 'Roth's Reach' which gives you chain for your EK, or a silverbough which you would use for basically the same reason as a rare bow, the +1 to level of gems mod. A silverbough doesn't have projectile speed however so your area of effect will be lower. The Signal Fire is required for this build due to the use of avatar of fire which converts 50% of damage to fire. We use this quiver to convert the other 50% to fire allowing us to then scale solely the fire damage through other items and nodes. This item also comes with the 'Gain (25-35)% of Physical Damage as Extra Fire Damage' mod which gives a bunch of extra dps as we're basically then converting up to 135% of our physical damage to fire. Wind's of change are not required for this build, but are best in slot. They give up to a whopping 50% increased physical damage which massively increases our dps as well as 30% increased projectile speed which gives us much greater area of effect. Kaom's Heart again isn't required, but is incredibly strong for this build, giving up to 40% increased fire damage and a large amount of life which will help aid in survivability. If you cannot afford this and are using a roth's reach a decent 5l/6l will more than suffice and allow you to play this build. Ring of blades is required for this build once you can use it, it is incredibly cheap and makes our ethereal knives fire in a nova massively helping with clear speed. The green dream is not required for this build, but provides us with the ability to gain frenzy charges without the requirement of blood rage which is incredibly useful once you have vaal pact and can no longer regenerate life. My Gear
Spoiler
Focusing on life, armour and resists on other pieces of gear is the general idea. A rustic sash will give you a large bump in dps due to the increased physical damage, however a leather belt will more than suffice and give you more life. With jewelry you should generally look for Life > Resists > Cast speed > Fire Damage in that order. Jewels can provide a large amount of dps once you get to a higher level. There are a variety of different mods which give us damage, Spell, Physical, Fire and Projectile damage as well as cast speed, which along with life will make a great jewel for this build. Skills

Ethereal Knives - Spell Echo Support - Fire Penetration Support - Elemental Focus Support - Controlled Destruction - Pierce Support (If you are using roth's reach, use added fire instead of for pierce) Blink arrow - faster attacks - Summon Lightning Golem Vaal Clarity - Vaal Clarity (for sustaining mana during boss fights) - Vaal Haste (for more dps) Curses: Blasphemy - Projectile Weakness (If you are also using pierce, if you aren't then either enfeeble or temporal chains) Auras: Herald of ash or Anger (I chose Herald of ash due to it only requiring 25% of mana reservation) Skill Tree

Final Tree (lvl 88) - From here you can either chose to get more jewel sockets, more elemental nodes or Elemental overload all of which will provide you with more damage. Ascendancy

Beserker (I'll list notable effects from each tier): - Normal Lab: 'Pain Rever' - 1% of Damage Leeched as Life/Mana, 2% of Damage Leeched as Life and Mana if you've Killed Recently. (Very useful whilst leveling and going into endgame) - Cruel Lab: 'Crave the Slaughter' - 15% increased Movement Speed if you haven't been Hit Recently. This point is very weak, but we need to use it to travel to our merciless point) - Merciless Lab: 'Aspect of Carnage' - 10% increased Damage taken, 40% more Damage. (massive damage boost). - Endgame Lab: 'Cloaked in Savagery' - 100% of Damage Leeched as Life if you've taken a Savage Hit Recently, 50% increased Damage if you've taken a Savage Hit Recently. (Once this is taken we can pick up vaal pact and get instant leech when we take a savage hit) Bandits - Normal: Help Oak (+40 Maximum Life) - Cruel: Help Alira (5% Cast Speed) - Merciless: Help Kraityn (+1 Maximum Frenzy Charge) Character Page

Make a video of T15+ maps please.
Shaper, Atziri, über atziri and guardians would be nice too. |

will using a xophs ring or amulet increase the dps? or are rare ammys better?
|

" Xoph's blood will likely give the highest dps due to the 10% extra penetration, I didn't get to test it however. I did try a perfectly rolled Ngamahu Tiki and I found that to provide basically the same dps as the amulet shown in the above build thread (cast speed is really strong). |

Does this build has the dps for all end game and all breach lords? I read EK has low single target dps
|
![]() |
" You should be able to do all breach lords with this build, Shaper and guardians may pose more of a threat and due to the lack of severe dps the fights will last considerably longer than with builds you would usually use for said content. If you wanted to more reliably clear end game content with EK you'd likely want to play a crit/poison based es build, due to the improvements in surivability and dps. Atziri, Uber, Breach lords and Guardians should be doable with this build however, given enough time and game knowledge. |

I dont like ES builds cuz i always die before i get to ES switch
How abpout this? https://www.pathofexile.com/account/view-profile/Chatrik55/characters Do you think he has good dps for breach lords? |

" His dps looks like in theory it should be more than enough, i'd need to test the actual numbers in game though or through path of building. He should also be fairly tanky too due to the added layer of MoM which he has. He doesn't have vaal pact however so he can't instantly leech back life from bosses. With proper game knowledge however and knowing the boss fight mechanics, breach lords should be more than doable. If you do end up trying that build and feeling like you don't have enough damage or playing in SC, you could get more damage by picking up the DoT nodes such as 'Dirty techniques' and 'Entropy' just to scale the poison damage further. 'Method of madness' would also achieve a similar result. If you want more info about his build you could try messaging him in game, good-luck either way! |
