An example of advanced mastercrafting

So i thought i'd put this here, since no one paid notice where i hid it before and since it's.. good to know. It just seems to me not many people understand what manipulations you can really do with mastercrafts. For example i needed to craft this ring with 5 mastercrafts on it and one elreon -mana cost mod. I really love mastercrafting like that it feels just very right and in-depth.

So basically to do this we can do this process:

Start with an elreons ring with only that one affix on it

add multiple mods to it, sadly we cannot add more mods as the item is magic(blue)

Now regal and pray for suffix - repeat above steps until you get a suffix with regal

Craft at least 1 prefix on item then prefixes cannot be changed in that order

Scour to remove all suffixes (prefixes cannot be scoured while item has prefixes cannot be changed) - this will not turn the item into magic(blue) because there are multiple prefixes present

Remove mods at master

Add multiple mods

Craft whatever you want

Now bless/divine till you get a better roll



Could have gone about it in many ways. In the beginning when im here with 1 prefix 2 suffix

I could instead add for example ES%(prefix), Armour%(prefix) and prefixes cannot be changed(suffix) and then scoured it to remove suffixes and be left with 3 prefixes, -mana cost, es% and armour% - that means two mastercrafted mods but no multiple mods on item, so it allow me a chance to then exalt 3 times for good suffixes.

I could also with a 1 affix ring keep regalling until i get a useful mod(in my case int/res) and then simply craft that.


Another example of good master craft usage is for example ES chests with bad suffixes, if there is a suffix free for crafting you can add prefixes cannot be changed then scour the item and that will scour all suffixes for new tries at exalting good suffix rolls.

Seems like a lot of currency for a ring. Dunno.

I'm so confused. Why not just buy 100 elreon rings and alt regal until you have a good 3 affix ring then multi mod to get 2 more affixes?

well I found it interesting, esp that last one. I feel like ud need eternals or next lvl yolo luck to make it the gg thing it needs to be but its certainly not something I have seen done before.

I normally buy a good 3 affix and craft that since it can give slightly better results but not that insane since ilvl restriction on elreon rings. However, due shortage of supply early in leagues and sometimes needing a special base ring it can be needed to do the extended craft.

Mastercrafting allow you to bend some rules you normally couldn't if you know how to do it, and just think its a shame it's almost no one who does it since it's quite satisfying crafting like that.

No one does that because the cost doesn't justify and not because people are unaware. Particularly in the early league as you have alluded to.

It is not even always that there are useful 3 prefix ones available at all even deep league, like last league there was only one for a period and luckily that became mine. That was with like 1 month left.

Either way, what do you care? I just wanted to demonstrate some crafting principles.

EDIT: There are over 80 possible suffixes that can be rolled with regal also, not to mention prefixes and the rings cost at least 1-2chaos each, plus regal, and probably more if its one of the rarer ones with a super suffix already like high int. I doubt it would be much cheaper, maybe if you had many different resist types that would work. But also includes tons of trading + luck as you are vulnerable to get shafted by rng and thereby making the craft much more expensive.

Lets say you buy all elreon rings with high int already and can use all of the two highest tiers of fire, cold, lighting and all res - meaning 8 of i think 83 rolls or something are useful, and now assuming 50% of the time it rolls prefix on the regal.. that means around 5% chance(i'm not going to calculate it perfectly including roll weights, but it would slightly increase the chance of the desireable outcome).. so thats a little less than 1 ex at best when you have so many rolls you can use, and also not being realistic with prices as these with high int tend to go even higher. Try to get one without base int but instead res and youll be looking at at best 3 int rolls useful that makes it 3/(83*2), like 1.8% chance which means youll be using 2-3 ex at least already still assuming unrealistically low cost to buy rings + tons of trading mercy of rng etc.

That is when the supply factor kicks in and either you have to wait for maybe days for ppl to come online/put items for trade or you can burn 1-3extra ex and save yourself all the work plus get it now. I do that at least, i just can't be bothered with rng gambling on things where i know i don't have enough supply to be sure i can get it.
