Essence of Envy pull from across the map

As the title says, there's something funky about the essence of envy hand pull distance. I was pulled from the position shown in the screenshot below to around where my party member is. As far as I know the essence mob is not supposed to have that big of a range since that is way more than 2 screens away.

As far as I know, the only thing done to the mob was corrupt it and the essence was upgraded to shrieking tier. Map mods also visible in the screenshot.
