SSF Hardcore Legacy moved to STANDARD upon death!!!
|
Its been 2 years since I last played Path of Exile and I think it's a great game so I decided to play again with the new patch. I also love SSF play so I welcomed that.
I chose HC because I figured once I die I just lose the HC tag. And without even really trying I made it to lvl 34 SSF HC Legacy. And to my surprise upon death I can no longer complete challenges. So I quit because I don't feel like remaking a character back up to lvl 34. You lost me this time around because of "achievements" which I generally don't even care about in games. I think you made a big mistake removing HC LEGACY characters from LEGACY upon death. I think it was a horrible idea. I was planning on spending some money on the game this time around just to support it and didn't get around to it either. I think you should reconsider this HC Legacy > SC Standard idea next time. Common sense would say a new LEGACY character created once the new league has began should remain a LEGACY character. Till next time. Good luck. " This was always the case. HC temp rips go to Std, SSF HC temp rips go to SSF Std. When night falls

" So why roll Hardcore if it amounts to the same thing as not being Hardcore? The entire point of Hardcore is making deaths more punishing, and if Legacy League characters remained in Legacy League after a hardcore death, that's isn't punishing. Create a level 1 Hardcore Legacy character, empty your stash into their inventory, die. Boom - you have all your stuff. If you keep all your stuff and don't leave Legacy League, how is it hardcore? Your feedback amounts to "I don't like the basic concept of hardcore, but I chose it anyway, and I died, and now I'm unhappy that hardcore is hardcore, so I ragequit the game." That feedback isn't useless! GGG could change the game in some way to discourage people from picking hardcore, perhaps place a requirement like kill Dominus in Act III to unlock hardcore leagues (do it once, unlock all present and future HC leagues account-wide). But they're not going to act on your request to turn Hardcore Leagues into exact copies of non-Hardcore Leagues, because then they're just splitting the playerbase for no reason. A better version of your request is "please remove Hardcore." And they won't do that, either. GGG do not offer first-party Technical Support.

" By your reasoning Sarno, PoE Hardcore is not actually "Hardcore" at all. Because what the real entire true point of "Hardcore" is, is PERMA DEATH. GGG has taken the real "punishment" out of Hardcore and made the point of Hardcore: once you die you are no longer Hardcore. You become softcore. One death and you are no longer hardcore. Hardcore is nothing more than a status symbol that you have not yet died. >> This concept has nothing to do with the actual league. I would be fine knowing that all hardcore characters are perma death like in D3 because I know what to expect. But leading players to believe their HC characters just become SC characters will not have them assume that means moving to standard league in an attempt to add a half "punishment." |

To be precise my complain is not the actual mechanics of how the game handles HC. I'm 100% for PERMA DEATH and/or league transfer. As a matter of fact I loved PERMA DEATH in D3.
My complaint is that the mechanic implemented was not clear. When creating the character it is stated: A Hardcore Legacy character becomes a standard character upon death. On a quick reading while creating a character this can be mistakenly interpreted as: standard=softcore. And I acknowledge my mistake. I just think: A Hardcore Legacy League character becomes a Standard League character upon death. Would have made the point more clear upon a quick read. I'm likely not the only person coming back to PoE after 2 years to make this assumption. Last edited by WildcasterTV#6708 on Mar 7, 2017, 6:59:53 AM

To prove my point here is another person who made the exact same mistake as me:

Tell me are you also the kind of person who Orders a Coffee and then complains that there isn't a label on said coffee that says Caution Liquid inside is HOT
Your argument is that you didn't read and understand the language and want it to be spelled out in greater detail so you can just skim over it and not actually read? How would that help? |
