Minions and allies ? whats the difference

One simple quesiton is a minion conisdered and ally. for example does this shield boost my minons

Ally refers to any creature on the player's side.
Minions are allied monsters summoned by the player.

Minions are allies and that shield works with them. Very commonly used with Necromantic Aegis.

Do remember tho,necromantic aegis keystone is essential for that shield to work for a summoner (classic or srs),while the damage benefits are huge for the minions them selves,you won't get any of the shield's attributes for your self,basically whatever stats the shield has,are being given to your minions instead of you.
