2-player league starter builds.

I want to start the Legacy League with a friend. We are both not too experienced concerning builds and we mostly just know how to build damage. We experienced many issues going with 2x DPS builds in Breach which was our first POE experience as well.
So this time we want to fix that by playing a setup that plays together very well. We just don't know how to do that. Can you tell me a working league starter 2-player setup that we can bring into endgame to farm some maps casually?

New players should focus far more on defense than they see the "pros" play. A lot of what makes those build work is knowing how to avoid damage. You don't learn that from a guide.

I'd go with a totem build and a summoning build if I were you.
We are both coming from Diablo and got a bit of experience through that. We know that playing glass cannons is not easy. I played Essence Drain, Blade Flurry and Ancestral Warchief and I got a fair understanding of toughness and evading attacks for now. The issue is that I would actually like to play a build that revolves around supporting more than actually dealing damage if that is even possible in this game which I don't know. But of course you're right. You learn the game by playing not by the guide but that is something we both know.

A totem build would be something like Ancestral Warchief and Earthquake and a summoning build is one where you go full zombie apocalypse or what do you mean?
Necromancer + some tankier frontliner works fine imo. SRS benefits a lot from someone drawing attention since SRS doesn't draw aggro, and provides good support to the party member in return with strong auras and long Vaal skills.

You can look up some aura support builds if you want pure support, Guardian is the most under played class and probably one of the most powerful class in the game. Problem is with that, Those builds tend to be very expensive builds and I do not recommend opening the league with that. Your best bet is to pick two normal builds that work well together. Someone recommended Minions + Totems. It makes a bit of sense as you protect each other with all the Distractions on the screen and do good dps at the same time. Or one of you can play a Shock build and the other a Freeze build?

Guandian is the only two player synergy I know of, but you guys can definitely get very inventive if you guys plan on playing all the time. Maybe a Tanky Champion build that taunts everything + Any Dps build.
I will check up on Necromancer builds and see if that's interesting for one of us. I imagine playing with summons is a hassle because you cannot really control the AI but we will see.

A tanky melee build would be a good pick for one of us at least I guess. I like to play those as well so that's what I'm going for then. I imagined supporters to be fairly expensive so we will probably just try to play with what we get again. Should be better than the last time when we played Essence Drain and Tornado Shot in two player because there was no distraction and tanking going on.

Can you provide links to builds you guys know that will still work in 2.6?
