Wait what? Uniques that can't be upgraded? #StandardProblems
" Now, I won't presume to speak for anyone else, but the reason I play Standard is because I don't want to periodically lose the stuff I collected. This is especially egregious with Enchanted items. For instance, I just got this the other day: What exactly are my options here? - Keep using this highly inferior version - Pray to my chosen deity that someone will sell a new Hrimburn with this enchantment. At the time of writing, there is a grand total of 6 enchanted Hrimburns on poe.trade in Standard, and only one of them is a Commandment (of Winter, not Frost). So the chances of this are slim to none, and even if it happened, the price would no doubt be quite steep. - Pray that someone will sell a non-unique pair of Goathide Gloves with this enchantment on them, then chance/scour them until they turn into Hrimsworrow. This is both unlikely AND expensive. - Buy a Hrimsorrow and a sealed Fire and Ice prophecy, upgrade to Hrimburn, then burn Goddess knows how many Offerings grinding the uber lab for enchants. This prospect makes me slightly ill. - ??? Not to sound like a dick, but did anyone at GGG consider this scenario? I'm genuinely curious. Now, I have a hunch as to why these items can not be Divined. I suspect that the new versions are in fact brand new items with the same visuals, while the old items have simply been drop disabled. If that is the case, could we perhaps get a vendor recipe that takes an uncorrupted old unique and a Divine Orb, and spits out the new version of the unique with the same enchantment (if any)? I don't mind spending a Divine to upgrade a unique I already have, but to be forced to grind a new copy (or the currency to buy a new copy) seems very uncharacteristic of GGG. If changing the passive tree warrants a full skill reset for everyone, even if they're not directly affected by the changes, then I don't see why we shouldn't be allowed to upgrade our uniques. Would you like to maybe set up a contract with me where I use my OotGs to grind for the enchant you want? I have a few 3-key capable builds that I could use to cover the cost of OotG, and I enjoy running the lab, so it might be mutually beneficial for you to pay me a flat fee (say, 10c) for me to run 1 to 100 uber lab runs (however many it takes) to get you the enchant you want with the new Hrimburn.
You might try a Divine anyways, since usually Divines reroll existing mods, but can't add new mods - this is probably what Bex meant, as Hrimsorrow has flat evasion and flat cold damage added, which Divine can't add, but it should be able to modify the Conversion and Cold Resistance. Unless you want the flat cold, in which case, my offer for a service contract stands :P Need game info? adghar is right, a Divine orb can't ADD new affixes to an item. That's why there are items that cannot be re-rolled with a Divine to their new form. It isn't a matter of whether or not they considered anything. It just simply cannot be done...
U MAD?

" Well I'm no native englisch speaker therefore I'm not sure if I understand your "offer for a service contract". ^^ Are you telling me that you would get him the uberlab enchant he want for 10c? If yes I have an even better contract offer for you. I need some good rolled (18%str is a must) Alberon's Warpath (worth about 10c) with the "Regenerate 2% of Life and Mana per second if you were Hit Recently" enchant and I do not only offer the 10c you asked for I would be happy to give you an ex for it. ;) I have no idea how many times I tried this shit but I get another useless enchant every single time and I really hate doing lab runs: German saying: Schönheit und Funktionalität in Sekundenschnelle zu ruinieren, ist dem wahren Dilettanten keine Herausforderung!

" Ok, fine. Divines can't add new mods. Fair enough. I'm still pretty sure it could be done via a vendor recipe though, if they wanted to. |
