Windows 10 "Game Mode" and PoE
Windows Game Mode launches this week, and is supposed to help resource allocation during gaming. Will this have any effect with PoE? I'm not a computer wiz, so I'm just wondering.

I don't think it "launches" this week, it's part of the next Insider Preview Build (think of it like a beta channel).
It should help PoE too, though: " Perception is reality.

" Source? Pretty sure it's in the Creators Update not coming 'til April. " I'd expect for most people it'll have a minor effect (5-10% FPS increase) and maybe reduce stuttering. It'll largely vary from game to game and from computer to computer and not knowing anything about your computer's hardware & software, it's hard to answer definitively. Or maybe it'll be garbage and need to be disabled like that DVR thing they have. |

" Unless you're part of the Insider Program you'll have to wait until they release the Creators Update, which will happen sometime this Spring. As far as enhanced performance for PoE is concerned, it will likely be minimal if noticeable. Whilst it does have support for Win32 applications like PoE, the primary goal of Game Mode is to enhance UWP (Universal Windows Platform) based games. |

" Thought you might like to know, Game Mode seems to work with PoE, however, for me, there was no discernable difference between Game Mode on or off. This is only after a couple of hours of testing, it is version one and it may be different on different hardware, but, as I said in my earlier post, it's really designed for UWP games. |
