Essence crafting help?

Hi! i've been trying to craft a +3 staff for some time now using Essence of Rage for the free +2 to fire gems and hope for the +1 to all gems to pop but it's taken so many and not a single one has appeared so far so my question is can this even happen while using Essence of Rage?

It can, but getting the +1 to gems is the hard part.

thanks for the reply but i don't have much currency or any lvl 8 masters for this way of getting a +3 so i guess i'll just spam essence untill i get it ;]
