Lucky Drop of Astramentis

They're going for like 90+ chaos. The stat boost is amazing, but is this more prized because of mechanics like Iron Will, general stat boost, or because it lets you run a lowbie charatcer and never worry about requirements? I assume the mechanics for DPS, correct?

It is prized because there are a couple of popular, powerful builds that stack stats (intelligence specifically), HOWA and Whispering Ice. Both of these builds go for well over 1000 Int (1500ish even).
U MAD?
It's expensive because people are too stupid to realize a rare is cheaper and gives more stats.

Thanks for the info. As a more casual player and not having those builds, did not know why. Still, provided my resists are good with other equipment, this amulet is pretty impressive on my character right now.

Yeah, it is just easier to use Astramentis, but you're right, you could technically get more Int from a rare Lapis amulet with T1 Int and T1 all attributes, and then you can get ES, and a resist, etc.

That depends on how specific you are looking for in a jewelry, sometimes that piece of gear would cost just as much as your entire build.

Yeah I don't know that you're gonna get a rare with more attributes than Astramentis, and other GG affixes on top of it for less than Astramentis.

No build is going to use all 3 attributes proficiently.

For a howa build, the amulet at best gives 116 int and 120 dex. the 116 str may or may not be needed depending on the rest of your gear but lets say it gives 30 str. 116 dex translates to 232 acc and 6 IAS.

If you can not find a rare amulet with ~80 int and enough stats to make up for 240 acc and 6 IAS worth of DPS and 40 int worth of stats then you're not trying hard enough.

Astrament's price is literally the best example of mass stupidity and blind streamer following.

Pillar will use all three attributes. Also, these amulets are nice (but not good enough), but it all depends on the build.

A perfect Astramentis will give you 116 to all attributes. The only way you're getting more than 116 INT on a rare amulet is if the rolls on the lapis amulet are perfect, a perfectly rolled lapis amulet probably doesn't exist whereas there are multiple perfect astramentis floating around. Also adding good affixes to high int amulets makes them absurdly expensive and well beyond the reach of your typical player.

I also wouldn't discount the fact that those additional stats help run gem setups that you wouldn't normally be able to run.
