2 and 3 "same name" rare recipes
|
I really don't like these 2 recipes. It will basically make me create 3-5 mule accounts when the game launches, and transfer stuff between them to get max number of regal orbs. Not very fun...
I realize I could just avoid doing this, but that would be a non optimal way of playing. (assuming I want to get as good loot as possible in as little time as possible) |

Or support ggg and bye additional stash space (wich i hope is making it to the cash shop)
But then again, no one is forcing you to save all these items :) |

with this recipe, regal won't be worth anything anyway.
It's pretty much 1 regal for every 3 rare items that drop after a while. |

Faerwin makes a good point - market will eventually balance recpipes like these making them much less rewarding (relatively to other activities/recipes).

I have yet to turn a 2 or 3 same name recipe. I'm sure there are others who can say the same. So go ahead and 'flood' the market, that just means I can get those orbs cheaper.

Although before-nerf it was too good, right now these recipes are not worth the time.
Let me tell you why: I recently started playing again after a break (since closed beta) and was hoarding every single rare I found between lvl 1 and 60 (roughly 15+ tabs; got a lot of those during close beta because there was nothing to spend points on). After I realised that both the same-name-rare and whole-set recipe got nerfed* I was left with either: - vendor according to the above recipes to get > 10 chance > 3 alchemy > loose a lot of decent mid-level rares which I wanted to use for levelling up other builds in the future > leave a lot of tabs still filled with crap hoping for future same-name drops OR - sell all the crap rares (approx. 12 tabs), which produced > 20 fusion orbs (in equivalent of alteration orbs) > 3 alchemy (from shards) > 20-30 other orbs like augmentation and chromatic (which I didn't bother counting due to low value) > keep all the good mid-level stuff to help me with levelling future chars (approx. 3 tabs) > emptied 12 tabs! *same-name was nerfed from alchemy to chance for doublet and regal to alchemy for triplets whole-set was nerfed for itemlevel under 60s from chaos to chance Before it was effective, mostly because of the PoE helper but also because people were comparing their lists and to maximise triplets. Took sheitloads of time to compare/trade however, so it at least felt well earned. Lol, so I guess I can add regals as another one to my list of 'NEVER SEEN IT SINCE OPEN BETA' :P (together with exalts, divines and blessed). IGN: AlCohonez, GhengizCohen

Depending on your supply of Whetstones and Armour Shards (especially if, like me, you bother to collect and sell +quality gear for 'em), it can be worthwhile to save a few unidentified rares (especially those already +quality), along with same-type unidentified Magic and Whites, to trade as perfect-quality sets for two Alchs. If you have any ID'ed quality Rares, you can still get 1 Alch for a triple with a perfect ID'ed Magic and a White. Yeah, it can take a few orbs to max out quality, especially on a Rare, but it can add up if you devote a tab or two.
It's like the compounding interest of PoE. =^[.]^= =^[.]^= basic (happy/amused) cheetahmoticon: Whiskers/eye/tear-streak/nose/tear-streak/eye/

To actually get to the point where you can reliably put one rare in and get one alch/regal out, you need dozens and dozens of stash tabs, and you need to farm until every single one is filled.
I honestly wouldn't worry about it. The amount of time you lose trading items to and from mule accounts invalidates the extra currency gain, and you'd have to have more money than sense to buy that many stash tabs. Last edited by Gearheart#7465 on Apr 12, 2013, 4:43:48 PM
