AMD massive breach lag solved for me
|
I was having bad lag issues with breaches, slideshow 1 fps as soon as I went in, always ending in death.
I tried loads of things - compatibility mode, all settings on minimum etc, then started rolling back drivers. The last Catalyst driver 15.11.1 beta solved everything for me - solid 60 fps and the lowest it goes is 20 fps. More than playable once I'd turned compatibility mode off. Give it a try if you're having similar issues on an AMD card. GPU: XFX Radeon HD 7950, so it should still hold for all similar cards. on a 7850 and wasn't having problems outside the norm (sure you'll tank when there are dozens of monsters with all the effects in breach...brand dose not effect that)

" I use a 7870 with the Crimson 16.12.2 drivers, which, for the most part, work very well. |

im not using anything that old. so im not really having that big an issue. my card is a r9 390.
however, while looking up other stuff i ran across something to look into that you can check to make sure you are getting the most out of your card. i sure wasn't. what was happening with my card is that its WattMan settings (the defaults) were preventing it from getting to its full clock speed. the way to fix this is to adjust the Plower Limit up. First you need to download the latest version of FurMark gpu test. this will allow you to push your gpu to 100% load, see the FPS you are getting, and the temps. all very important for this. Then you go inside the Radeon Settings and to.. Global Settings -> Global WattMan Power Limit is all the way down at the bottom. start your FurMark test (make sure its in a windowed mode so you can adjust the WattMan settings!). then let it run for a couple minutes. it will get hot and level out eventually. mine leveled out around 82C i think. now if you know your GPU core clock speed you can easily check if you are getting it in the radeon settings. right under where it says GPU there is a graph and it says "current speed". that current speed is your GPU core clock. mine was capping at something like 921Mhz with the max suppose to be 1010Mhz. even under 100% load it wasn't able to step up. this is because of the Power Limit setting. down at the bottom you will have to play with Power Limit a little if you find you also have this sort of situation happening. i had to adjust it up 20% in total. you want to adjust it 10% at a time until you get your full core clock. then decrease it 5% to see if you lose that core clock after you find your max. if you do lose it then just increase it back to where it was and call it good. make sure to always keep an eye on your temps as increasing Power Limit allows your card to draw more power. which means more heat. if you start going over 90C you need to probably reverse what you have been doing or risk heat damage if you leave it running a long time. | |

Thats simply OC guide.
I think many people will try it. For me? It is pointless due to CPU i have with my GPU. It is Phenom x2@x4 3,2 GHz so they are pretty balanced. But new drivers helped. Not a lot but helped. |
