Leveling at 70+ (Solo play)

So this is my second character(other one was a Shadow) and i've been playing solo 99.99% of my time. I am now at level 75 as a Ranger and still grinding docks for around 3% exp each run with crappy drops (RNG God hates me, all he does is dropping me useless uniques)

So far i've only found like 6 maps from soloing in docks and i'm wondering other than partying, are there any other alternatives i can take to make my leveling faster?(I only have like 4 or 5 maps left)

Are there anyone out there that is 80+ who has been soloing all the way?

I am also a Solo player most of the time, currently 76 with my Witch, and i am kinda stuck.

Ive just played 5 Maps, made 40% Exp on the way...
and on the last map ive died to Rubberbanding two times in a row...
almost all Exp gone again :/

Now i am really no child of bitching and moaning, but if you guys (GGG) cant fix the rubberbanding, please do something on the Exp penalty part...perhaps make it so you can at least earn some of the Exp back...i am kinda running against a Wall currently and i dont actually see how i ever gonna reach 80...or 90... or even 100. its impossible.

The most annyoing part (being a clothie) is Flicker Strike Mobs.
If i get a map with those...i can leave right away, or i lose my entire Exp Bar due to the deaths.

I play mostly solo also on my 69 shadow, usually i'll have 2-3 runs with no maps then have a run where 2-3 maps drop, I try to roll them with 30%+ quality, and get some good exp.
In my experience if the first couple of packs you fight don't drop a map, nothing after that will.

Problem is I havn't had a single gcp/chaos/alch/fusing whatever drop apart from armour/weapon scraps and portal/wisdom scrolls since I started maps.
And rares lol, lucky to get one drop from the boss, granted I don't use MF gear, can't lose the survivability atm.

More productive to farm docks if I want anything other than xp.

lol yea I have several spider lair maps piling up because i'm not game enough to take on a flicker boss.

If you put on your full plate mail, and I throw hundreds of toothpicks at you, you'll basically not feel it.

If someone catapults a whole tree at you, don't expect the Armour to prevent as much of the damage.

Yeah thats also a problem (imho).
Besides my Witch i got a 60ish Shadow, another 30ish Witch, and a few more Twinks.
I've played many many hours, i never found a Exalted or a Divine Orb.
Those two are simply to rare.

Also i am having the feeling they've done something about how the Fusings work.
I blew like 100 on my Boots to get a simple 4 Link...nada yet.

I mean comeon...4L is pretty common.
Its perfectly fine when 5L and 6L is rare, but why do you have to blast thue so many Fusings to get a 4L ?

Thats another wall i've been currently hitting.
Cant upgrade my Gear, due to missing Links.

and ps: Even Kripparian is saying Exalting something is a waste of precious Resources.
Because you can use this Resources to buy stuff, and you gonna be cheaper off.
So basicly, the crafting Part is kinda useless currently.
It does seem that the game forces you to play in teams at high level. I don't see it as a problem, per se, just a design choice. When I want to level, I join multi-player Docks Runs. The loot is terrible, the enjoyment is non-existent but I level quickly. If I am going to put a finger down and say "that is a problem", it is the multi-player experience that is a problem. The graphics are too big and bright. I don't need to see everyone else's graphics, much less be blinded by them.
I was about to open a thread about the same issue but figured out it would be betetr to post it here.

i am level 76 i play solo because i find grouping to be a huge disapointment, all you see is flashing disco effect monster become impossible to see, the loot system is also in my opinion quite terrible.

I ran 27 maps in 2 days here is what i found ( half lvl 66-67, and the other half high level maps)
P.S i have 55% rarity and 18% more item found, always run maps with higher than 25% rarity
6 maps ( around 25% return)
2 fusing
2 alchemy
1 decent legendary (low level)
and about 40 crappy yellow not even worth trying to sell

If i start a new character and reach level 20 i am more than likely to get 5 times more currency.

I agree 100% with the death penalty being way too rough as the server robberbanding make it impossible not to die.

I do not know the detailed maths about the drop rate but everyone seem to agree if you play solo good luck getting anyting to drop worth your time.

As a solo player and the group system being a huge letdown i feel forced to turn to another game, i seriously hope they make it possible to play solo past level 70 in the future as i'll be more than happy to come back for some more hack and slashing!

I'm level 74 now and have soloed since 50. I've been running Lunaris level 3 over and over and over again. I'd probably group if they increased the loot timer but due to 250~ latency and being a caster, getting loot before it gets taken is basically impossible, so what's the point of being in a pug?

It feels like the way to level is when you get the lucky chain map drops within maps and due to the higher lvl monsters, you can progress through levels without wanting to kill yourself. Of course I've had days where I've seen no map drop or 1 has dropped and not seen one again for hours.

It's fairly depressing...
Oh I feel a little better since there are more people who feel my pain.

Hitting my head against the wall here as well, at lv71 cold witch.
Drops are terrible even with 80 quantity and 120 rarity, but i can farm only lunaris 2 like that.
Started a Shadow, got him to lv50 in merciless and hit the wall again (no items to upgrade my char, getting instagibbed very often with 1500life).

I dont really see how people have like 20+ exalted worth of currency. All decent stuff sells for a lot, and after 100+ hours of game time i have found only 1!!!! GCP, 0 exalted, 0 divine, 15+ chaos and 20+ alch. Really loving the game but come on, this is getting frustrating and I am seeing myself playing for not more than several hours a day now, everytime feeling frustrated.

It has been discussed already that what this game needs is /player x option for Solo-ers.
I hope GGG comes up with some stance regarding this, is it going to get changed or no.
Agreed,

I also play solo (my fps is 5-10 in a group, too many effects, and not enough need to participate/play/use skills, just AoE)

Also had no luck on drops, Maps etc,

leveling an Alt or two is fun, but would be nice to enhance the solo experience past 65,

Great game, and early days still I guess
i have found 3-4 gcp. traded a lot for a few more.
I farmed low level bosses for uniques till i got some worthwile loot and traded the uniques for a gcp.

Now my shadow hith lvl 66 and was unplayable solo. Now im trying to crunch my health max and playing solid on all defense i can. Everything 2 shots me and i think its just my build. Shadow + evasion +acrobat +cold dmg spells don't really work well.

So i rerolled a flame templar with good uniques for low on life +dmg and was face rolling mobs 3 levels higher than me no prob. My build was good. But now im close to merciless and i can feel the pain.
Worried about later on and getting stuck not being able to lvl due to lack of group play.

For all of you guys with no currency i highly suggest taking yoru time and spamming trade and trying that aspect of the game out. I turned 2 gcp profit a day if you know what to buy and what to sell.
