Fortify Discussion. Please Read GGG

Why can't a Increased Duration Gem support a Fortify Support? I understand Fortify doesn't have the tags "Duration" so therefore the Support Gem doesn't affect Fortify but why is that? Too OP? Didn't think about it? I don't know. But it doesn't make much sense to me considering Fortify has a Duration mechanic.

It's a bit hard for certain builds, like I'm playing as a Two-hander Warchief that uses Leap Slam to proc Fortify which isn't exactly the best idea considering you need to leap slam into everything. I've tried various other Skill Gem's to try and proc this Fortify and nothing remotely comes close to being useful.

If you want a long range proc use Sunder.

Otherwise it was never meant for characters that are not in melee range all the time. It still is a very odd mechanic, exspecially considering that fortify gives melee physical damage and not melee damage, which means using it in your main setup is pretty much a nogo for elemental builds and still slightly punishing for regular melee builds.

Frost Blades works too if it fits your weapon types better, especially if you take the infamous Master of the Arena notable near Duelist start

Support gems only support an active gem, not each other.
