Maybe it's from fps when they are fluctuating. Check it with F1.
I thought it was just me.

I played fine up until the dx11 update (even though I'm still using dx9). Now I can play about 30 minutes before getting a headache. Shield charge is probably the worst offender in making me nauseous (so maybe the mjolner nerf was a good thing...).

I tried Grim Dawn last year but that game made me nauseous while PoE did not (at the time).

I'm not exactly sure what the cause is.
That i said you i hade same problem until i get better PC with better spec. This problem is from fluctuate fps, mini freeze and lag.

i dont dare to say something like this but i play lesser cause the game really stress me physically.

never had that before oO

I have experienced it in the past while playing Half Life 1.

I use to get it terrible with that game but I tolerated it because I was enjoying it.Don't get it with POE and never got it with any game other than 1st 3rd person games although not all.

In fps game the problem is caused by field of view <75.

Bump. Tried playing in the new league but had to stop after getting a headache.

I could never play any FPS games due to getting a headache. I used to play a Mjolner rainbownuke build with zero problems (before the 2.5 nerf). PoE never used to be a problem for me until they added the dx11 (didn't play much last league). I've tried both dx11 & dx9 versions and they both have the same effect on me--though it seems like dx11 is worse, but I'm not 100% sure about that.

Maybe as Rhilnix said, it might be the stuttering that occurs while moving but it could also be how the perspective changes as you move.

Some skills make the headache worse. Leveling with firetrap and freezing pulse wasn't so bad, but after getting firestorm I started getting a worse headache. I can't play a whispering ice build without getting a headache after the first few minutes but a King of the Forest build with LA & barrage is fine (at least for a little bit longer).

Here are some things that might help.

Check the sharpness setting on your monitor menu. If it is maxed out, it can hurt your eyes over extended time. I have mine on 3/10.

Next check backlight/brightness settings (in monitor menu). You do not want your t.v. or monitor to be the brightest thing in the room as any subtle change in brightness causes your eyes to try to adjust. If this is the case, you are essentially flash banging yourself. Turn on some lamps in places that throw light evenly around you and the monitor. If you have bloodshot eyes at all, this is probably the cause > lack of blinking.

You could also look at brightness and contrast if you do not have a backlight setting.
Do not go too low though, that can make you hyperfocus which also might be bad (I think it is). You want your eyes to be able to look at every detail on the monitor in a lazy way.

Other than that, stand up every 10-30 minutes and do a really small warm up by moving every part of your body a little. Set a timer if you have to.

All this might seem excessive, but it really helps. Also if you are smoking the herb at all, the light settings are even more important as it can cause your pupils to dilate (take in more light than necessary).
A kid with a magnifying glass. . . looming down on the anthill. Eventually one is going to get you.
